There are up to 1,000 families with life-limited children in Sussex. Chestnut Tree House offers specialist care both at the hospice and out in the community in the families’ own homes. But it is not just care for the child or young person, Chestnut Tree House also provides support for the whole family including siblings and grandparents, as well as psychological support and pre and post-bereavement care.
When we first opened our doors, we were caring for just 30 children. Such is the need for our services that we are now caring for 300 children and their families right across East and West Sussex and into South East Hampshire.
We make no charge to families for the care they receive from Chestnut Tree House. We need to raise well over £3 million each year to provide all our care services at the House and out in the community, yet we receive less than 8% of our funding from central government so rely heavily on the support of our local community and events like the Big Heart auction.Donate Now
